RJS Construction, Inc. teamed with our Joint Venture Partner, Tribal 1 to provide elevator upgrades to the 16-story historic Mark O. Hatfield United States Courthouse, built in 1997. This building houses the U.S. District Courts and court related agencies. The project consisted of the replacement of (9) elevators with upgrades to the electrical, fire alarm and fire protection systems to increase safety at each elevator shaft and mechanical room.

RJS is the Prime Contractor on this Design-Build 3,500 sf tenant finish project at the Edith Green Building in Portland, OR. The project consists of demolition and renovation of an existing space for the US Trustees office. The scope includes demolition, metal stud framing, security access control, gypsum wallboard, acoustical ceilings, batt insulation, metal and wood doors, finish hardware, finish painting, vinyl flooring, carpet tile, vinyl base, casework, appliances, ballistic rated doors and windows and a radiant above ceiling heat system. The interior spaces include several offices, a conference room, break room, communications closet, copy room and reception area.

The Thomas S. Foley U.S. Courthouse Veterans Benefit Administration 5th Floor TI project is a Design-Build tenant improvement project aimed to consolidate federal holdings and expand agency operation. The intended space is 3890 sq. ft. with a design-build component aligned to accommodate a working staff of 30-plus Veteran’s Benefits Association and services to their clients. In preparation for this improved suite, there has been a complete demolition of the interior space; all interior flooring and walls, asbestos abated and mechanical electrical, and plumbing removed or reconfigured.  The project also addressed new communications, life safety, security; both physical and intellectual, and all related electrical. The HVAC scope work included the demolition of the existing duct system, the reconfiguration of a new air distributor system to support individual offices, common and dedicated areas, and installation of the new air distributor system.  The suite utilized Liebert Heating and Cooling System, new ducting, (6) new VAV units and zone controls with balancing dampers, grilles, registers, and diffusers. An acoustic sound masking system was installed in the ceiling to provide white noise.
